Finally is not the most important thing about the system the games themselves? OH, I'd purchace a cart pending having money even if the rom is avaliable for download. I don't see a problem with somehow charging a small download fee for the rom and still ending a custom rom if possible until carts are no longer in production, then if someone cheats you would know who or atleast have a very likely suspect.
I'll go with that. I guess my somewhat purest veiw of playing Atari is not well taken all the time. You can post now and register later. If you have an account, sign in now to post with your account. Note: Your post will require moderator approval before it will be visible.

While playable, there are issues with collision detection. However, if you want to see what might-have-been on a real Atari console, this is not to be missed. Plutos Plutos is a vertically oriented space shooter that features gameplay similar to Raiden.
The game features six different levels, each with its own unique theme and boss. Only three of these levels are unique graphically--the other three are just color palette changes. Plutos offers one player as well as two player simultaneous modes, selectable with the left difficulty switch. Plutos also has features a unique weapons power-up system. There are three different types of weapons, each of which can be upgraded up to four times, as well as an invincibility power-up.
The three different weapons are: Dual machine guns, spread gun, and energy gun. A partially compiled version of Plutos was discovered by Curt Vendel but was unstable and crashed frequently. The source code for Plutos was discovered in and thanks to the efforts enthusiasts Robert DeCrescenzo, Mitchell Orman, and Eckhard Stolberg, the game was compiled and now runs properly on stock hardware.
Supports single or 2 player game play withand three difficulty levels. Sentinel was a late release title made available in small quantities in France in PAL format. This game requires the Atari XG-1 or compatable light gun to play. Sirius is a single player game only. The difficulty level easy and hard can be selected via the left difficulty switch. Sirius has several different types of weapons power-ups. The first is a "ghost ship" that follows you and fires when you fire.
Other power-ups include rapid fire guns and rapid fire plus spread fire. You can pick up one extra of each power-up type for reserve so that when you are killed you won't be quite so vulnerable.
There are also diamonds that you can pick up but they don't seem to do much other than reward you points. Sirius is a long lost unreleased prototype developed by Tynesoft for the Atari , and possibly a port of the Amiga game Sirius 7. A partially compiled version of Sirius was discovered by Curt Vendel but was unstable and crashed frequently. The source code for Sirius was discovered in and thanks to the efforts enthusiasts Robert DeCrescenzo, Mitchell Orman, and Eckhard Stolberg, the game was compiled and now runs properly on stock hardware.
Space Duel features several two-player variations including Competition Space Duel where you compete against another player for points and your shots destroy the other player! Combat Combat was the first original Atari game. A true labor of love by Harry Dodgson. Similr to the original Atari version of the game, you manuever your tanks withini the playscreen and try to obliterate one another. A new addition is the inlcusion of shields! It is a tough call. I like the POKEY and the idea of it, but just don't like the idea of having to use a chip that isn't unlimited in supply to do it.
Afterall, not all the homebrews can use a pokey, there aren't enough of them for that in the long run Just a suggestion for the difficulty selection, and I am sure you already have something worked out. But you should set it up like the other games in that you simply move the joystick up or down to select difficulty and left or right to select number of players. Unless this remains a one player only game And the version needs to have a killer title screen.
That was always my favorite thing about games, was the cool title screens. The really can do some decent graphics when in the hands of the right programmer it appears For that matter, you could just have two version. Had a chance to try this out on a real last night. Looking pretty good so far! TIA sound is okay, but Pokey is better by far.
Just needs some graphical tweaks and dealing with the extra PAL lines and it should run okay on my I looked at the pokey detect code that was in my cartridge dumper, then at some pokey register docs. Since this is part of but not the complete shift register, there's always a chance that you'll read the same value twice in a row.
I tried out BD earlier.. After opening the CC2 I just reseated the chip and all is well again! Neither version preserves the high score currently. Great achievement porting this from the ! Which game is next? Many thanks! Maybe intro music should take priority? On rare occasions the two voices seem to get slightly out of sync.
It loads OK, but the first game I tried, it wouldn't drop any of the burger parts. I tried resetting it a couple of times and it worked but one time it crashed to a black screen for me as well.
